| MoU signed during Vice President Ebtekar's visit to China |

Iranian Vice President and Head of the Department of the Environment H.E. Masoumeh Ebtekar led a delegation to pay an official visit to the People's Republic of China from July 1st to 4th. Vice Minister of China's State Environmental Protection Administration, Mr. Zhu Guangyao held talks with H.E. Ebtekar on July 1st in Beijing. Both sides introduced the state environmental policies and practical experiences, and upon the consensus they have reached, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Environmental Cooperation between the People's Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Same day in the afternoon, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier H.E. Mr. Zeng Peiyan, met with H.E. Ebtekar and her delegation in the Great Hall of the People. Zeng gave positive remarks to the friendly cooperations in various fields between China and Iran since the establishment of diplomatic relations. He also spoke highly of the signing of the MoU. Ebtekar expressed Iran's willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with China in the fields such as environmental protection and green energy. During her visit to China, Ebtekar also met with Mayor of Beijing, Mr. Wang Qishan, and with Vice President of All China Women's Federation, Madam Gu Xiulian. In these meetings, both sides exchanged experiences on environmental protection issues and the roles played by women in each society. Besides, Ebtekar delivered a speech in Beijing University, which is a famous and leading university, expressing the will to carry out cooperation on environmental protection between Beijing University and universities in Iran. She also answered questioned raised by her audience. |
