Notice on Fingerprints Collection of Visa Applicants

Starting from September 19, 2021, the Chinese Embassy in Iran will collect all fingerprints from visa applicants applying for Chinese visa.

1. Please be noted that all applicants are requested to go to the Chinese Embassy in Iran in person for fingerprints collection. Applicants who forge fingerprints or use other people's fingerprints will be denied entry into China and bear the consequences incurred.

2. The following applicants can be exempt from fingerprint collection:

I. Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;

II. Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas;

III. Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Chinese Embassy in Iran with the same passport;

IV. Applicants with all fingers mutilated or noncollectable.

3. All visa applicants are kindly requested to login to https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn to fill in the visa application form online and then login to https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn to make an appointment (Please refers to "Notice on Implementation of Online Chinese Visa Applications with E-application Forms and Pre-book Appointments" http://ir.chineseembassy.org/chn/lsfw_1/t1872505.htm) and submit passports and other required documents to the Chinese Embassy in Iran with the printed complete Visa Application Form and a signed Confirmation of Online Visa Application Form.

4. The current eligibility criteria and the procedures of visa applications during the pandemic remain unchanged until further notice.
