On August 20, 2015, President Xi Jinping extended condolences to President President Joko Widodo of Indonesia over the crash of the passenger plane of an Indonesian airplane company.

Xi Jinping expressed that he was shocked to learn that Flight IL 267 of Pesawat Trigana Air from Indonesia crashed in Papua Barat on August 16. On behalf of the Chinese government and people, he would like to offer deep condolences to the victims on the flight and express his sincere sympathy to the families of the victims.
